CMS students come from various walks of life, cultures, perspectives and different countries. By engaging and sharing their varied life experiences, students at the Centre for Migration Studies help to enhance their emotional and educational growth.

The Centre has approximately thirty (30) students comprising five (5) PhD's, three (3) Mphil and eighteen (18) MA students. Our research students (PhD and Mphil) are engaged in a wide variety of research, much of which takes place within Ghana.

 

Resources

CMS Resource Centre

Our library is functional and a subsidiary of the Balme library. It provides services for both lecturers and students alike. The resource centre houses a collection of books, journals and articles on migration and other related issues published worldwide. The books, articles and journals currently in stock are for reference purposes only.

Library Hours: Monday – Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm

 

Balme Library

The Balme Library, one of Africa's most distinguished research libraries is the main library of the University of Ghana Library System. It is located on the main campus of the University. It consists of 6 departments and 1 special library for the physically handicapped. You would have access to a collection of more than 100 thousand books, 500 microfilms, CD's, tapes and impressive holdings of rare books, prints and archives. The library also offers access to extensive electronic resources.
