Welcome to the Centre for Ageing Studies

I welcome you to the Centre for Aging Studies (CFAS) and wish you a pleasant experience as you browse our informative and exciting website. The Centre commenced its operations in August 2016 under the College of Humanities. It is located between the Banking Square and the University of Ghana Basic School. The Centre for Ageing Studies constitute an interdisciplinary group of faculty with teaching and research interests in ageing-related issues. It conducts cutting edge research, and is currently developing academic programmes that will lead to the accumulation of academic credits and graduate degrees.

CFAS DONATION EVENT DUBBED: PROJECT 100 WHEELCHAIRS FOR OLDER PERSONS
The Centre for Aging Studies on the 28th of February 2025 organized a donation exercise where items were donated to a list of recipients on behalf of older persons from various institutions as part of its donations to older people.

The International Day for Older People was held on 1st October 2024 at the Great Hall, university of Ghana under theme Ageing with Dignity: “The importance of strengthening care and support systems for the older persons worldwide”.
