CFAS DONATION EVENT DUBBED: PROJECT 100 WHEELCHAIRS FOR OLDER PERSONS
The Centre for Aging Studies on the 28th of February 2025 organized a donation exercise where items were donated to a list of recipients on behalf of older persons from various institutions as part of its donations to older people. The Centre for Ageing Studies (CFAS) organized a donation ceremony at its premises to present items to some of its stakeholders to be given to older persons in need.
The programme began at 09:35 AM with arrival of the quest. An opening prayer was offered by Ms. Ama Aidoo. A welcome address and the purpose of gathering was given by Prof. Joseph Osafo.
In attendance at this event were the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Provost of the College of Humanities, University of Ghana, Professor Joseph Awetori Yaro, staff, and management committee members of CFAS, representatives of Tobinco Foundation, Naro Aged Care Agency, Larteh Aged Welfare Foundation, Adult Retirees, St. Barnabas Family, Comfort For the Aged Nursing Home, Ma Mere Nursing Home, Trent Seniors Haven, Family Health-Ho, Bethel Presby-Isreal, Arklifestyle Lounge, Come to Graceful Greyers, Veterans Pensioners, Julie’s Memorial Project, Geriatric Korle Bu Polyclinic, as well as media personnel from GTV, Pent TV, Atinka Media Village, and UTV/ Peace FM for media coverage
The day's festivities came to a close with heartfelt closing remarks from Professor Joseph Osafo, Director of the Centre for Ageing Studies. With genuine passion, Professor Osafo shared the day's accomplishments and their lasting impact on the community. His words reminded us that together, we can make a difference and create a supportive environment for our elderly.
Professor Osafo's closing remarks provided a fitting conclusion to the event, emphasizing the significance of the day's accomplishments and the Centre's unwavering commitment to promoting ageing well. His words resonated deeply, inspiring attendees to continue advocating for the welfare of ageing individuals. Dr. Akosua Agyemang also expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the Centre to all participants, sponsors, and organizers.

As the closing prayer was said by Mrs. Rachel Mantey brought the celebration to a close, the atmosphere shifted from joy and excitement to reflection and gratitude. Attendees shared warm moments, exchanging stories, well-wishes, and words of encouragement. The room was filled with laughter, hugs, and tears as friends and acquaintances said their goodbyes. Saying farewell was bittersweet, but participants left with full hearts, inspired by the day's events, the Centre's mission to care for our elderly, and the knowledge that they were part of something meaningful.
